Crescent Spur's heli-hiking program gives guests access to remote mountain terrain throughout British Columbia's Northern Rockies and Cariboo Mountains.

Each day begins at Crescent Spur Lodge, with the helicopter providing access to alpine areas that would otherwise require hours or even days to reach on foot. Depending on the group, the day may include hiking through alpine meadows, travelling along mountain ridgelines, exploring remote lakes and glaciers, or incorporating elements of light mountaineering.

With a maximum of 5 hikers per trip, the experience is intentionally small and flexible. Our ACMG guides select each day's destination based on weather, mountain conditions and the interests and abilities of the guests, allowing the itinerary to change throughout the trip.

The focus is not on covering a set distance or following a fixed route. It is about having the freedom to explore exceptional mountain terrain at a pace and level that works for the group.

Ability Level

Heli-hiking can be adapted for a range of abilities, from guests looking for a relaxed day exploring alpine meadows and scenic terrain to experienced hikers interested in longer days, ridgelines, glaciers and more challenging mountain travel.

Our guides tailor each day to the fitness level, interests and comfort of the group. Guests should be comfortable walking on uneven mountain terrain, but previous mountaineering experience is not required for most itineraries.

About the Lodge

Crescent Spur Lodge is a remote wilderness lodge located in British Columbia's Robson Valley, between the Northern Rockies and Cariboo Mountains.

Guests stay in private rooms with ensuite bathrooms and enjoy chef-prepared meals throughout their stay. The lodge also features a full-service bar and wine selection, comfortable common areas, a fireplace, hot tub, sauna and fitness area.

Food and hospitality are an important part of the Crescent Spur experience. After a day in the mountains, guests return to the lodge for drinks, dinner and time to relax around the fire sharing stories of the day's adventures.
